The aim of this research is the confirmation of heat island in Tabriz megalopolis existence using UHI index. To do this research we applied the daily records of Tabriz synoptic station and the data of Khosro-shahr climatic station for the 2001-2008 periods. Initially the normality test of the data was carried out. Since the data were parametric and the stations were related to each other, we then used paired T Test for dependent groups. Finally, months showing heat island characteristics were specified in Tabriz with the use of UHI. Results of paired T Test for dependent groups indicated that in all three states of the maximum, minimum, and mean temperature, there is a significant correlation between both stations. On the other hand, results of the comparison between two stations showed that minimum temperature parameter in Tabriz are more than that of Khosro-shahr in all months of the year. In terms of the mean temperature, there is more adjusted condition, but the difference is still high. In terms of the maximum temperature, the difference is less than the mean temperature and the difference between two stations has been equalized in March. Other researchers also have come to the point that daily declining trend is an indicator of urban heat island in the city of Tabriz. The maximum density of heat island belongs to the mornings and the minimum occurs during afternoons. This case has been proved for Tabriz and confirms phenomenon of urban heat island in the city.
