Recognition and survey of erosion has particular importance in watersheds. With lithology studies and identify of erosion potential and sediment production of basin, can be actted in the field of protection of natural resources. The aim of this study is survey influence of lithology factor on water erosion of Vanaee cluse watershed of Borujerd city among other effective factors to erosion. Therefore after identification of geomorphic landforms of product of water processes and local geology formations, using the library studies, field works and using of granulometery experiment and the PSIAC method, was estimated erosion and production of basin sediment.
Granulometry of sediment samples of the basin, introduced their nature of the kind of river sediments and intense flood flows and result of water erosion with texture coarse, heterogeneous and angular. The survey of the PSIAC method on basin data, also, determined lithology factor as the sixth effective factor (4.37) in the erosion of basin. The first factor of erosion with the most weight (17.33), was recognized the topography factor and the last factor with the lowest weight (-1.78), vegetation. After determining the sedimentation degree of the total basin (51.36), Annual sedimentation average of total basin 233.9 m3/km2 and annual average of specific erosion 742.5 m3/km2 was obtained. Based on these results and the qualitative classification of erosion, Vanaee cluse watershed of Borujerd city is placed in class 3 of erosion (medium erosion and low sedimentation). As well as was determined that marl unit (mf) have the most of sedimentation (1528.8 m3/km2) and the most of erosion (4853.3 m3/km2) than other formations that is placed in the very high class of erosion and sedimentation and the lowest of edimentation (83.7 m3/km2) and erosion (265.7 m3/km2) happens in the unit of volcanic-lateritic Triassic (TRgr-v).
