One of the main ways to develop and enhance agro-climatic activities is to identify areas susceptible to planting due to the climatic conditions and physiographic of the earth. Therefore, in this research, agricultural climate zoning of potato in Kurdistan province was studied based on climatic elements and physical factors, using the matching operations of layers in the GIS environment. The climatic elements studied include annual precipitation, annual temperature, germination precipitation, growth period temperature, minimum temperature of the first trimester of growth and degree-day. Physical factors such as soil depth, land type, slope and elevation were also evaluated. First , using the favorable climatic conditions for potato cultivation in the GIS environment, the information layers were valued and classified. Then, with the method of index overlaying , climatic elements and physical factors of the earth, they were combined separately, and finally , by combining elements climatic and physical factors, the mapping potential of potato cultivation in the GIS invironmet was prepared in four different classes. The results of the study showed that the climatic elements and physical factors of the land separately and combined, in the zoning of agricultural climate of potato were effective. Accordingly, the analysis of the findings was determined that the average area with 38% is the highest area of the province for cultivating potatoes. 17.2 percent of the province, which is mostly in northern areas of the province in Havatu plain, is inadequate .35% is in good condition and 10.7% has a very good condition for potato cultivation.
